Pratyusha Maiti is a research scientist and faculty member working on the Jill Watson project in DILab. Pratyusha holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. Her research interests lie in the conjunction of Natural Language Processing and Cognitively Inspired AI Design. Outside DILab, Pratyusha loves watching anime, arcade gaming, reading historical fiction, and cafe-hopping.

Sandeep Kakar is a Research Scientist in the Design & Intelligence lab of the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interest centers around using artificial intelligence to improve learning outcomes in online education. He holds an MS in Computer Science. His previous education includes a Ph.D. in Physics and an MBA.

Rahul Dass is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Georgia Tech. Currently, he leads the VERA and Ivy teams at DILab and AI-ALOE with research interests in personalized learning and self-explanation. Prior to joining GT, as a U-LINK interdisciplinary fellow with a background in Responsible AI, he obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Miami in 2022. He previously interned at Amazon as an Applied Scientist with the AWS Responsible AI team and volunteered as Lead Data Scientist at a non-profit tackling news disinformation. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and visiting National and State Parks with his family.

Ploy Thajchayapong has her Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University. She worked as a post-doc at Georgia Tech before joining Tech Industry in Data Science field.  After 8 years in a Big 4 consulting firm and an AI start-up, she is now a Research Scientist at AI-ALOE and DILab.

Vrinda Nandan is a research scientist and faculty member working on the AskJill, Jill Watson, and VERA projects in the DILab. Her research focuses on software design, development, and product management for artificial intelligence question answering agents. Vrinda holds an MS in computer engineering and an MBA. Her research interests include Natural Language Processing, Question Answering Agents, Explainability, and Ethics in Artificial Intelligence. Outside of DILab, Vrinda loves traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.
