Shay Samat is a Data Scientist at the Data Science Alliance, where their focus is on advancing Responsible Data Science (RDS) to tackle societal challenges through ethical and community-centered data practices. Shay collaborates closely with nonprofit organizations across San Diego to drive data-driven social impact.

Currently, Shay is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Interactive Intelligence at Georgia Tech. Shay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Machine Learning from UC San Diego.

Qiuchen Wang is currently pursuing her Master’s in Computer Science (OMSCS) at Georgia Tech while working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Tulsa. Her research focuses on sand transport and erosion prediction, where she applies AI and machine learning to address challenges in the oil and gas industry. At the DILab, She works with the Jill Watson research group, exploring cutting-edge techniques in NLP and RAG to advance AI-driven solutions.

Outside of work, Qiuchen is an avid foodie who loves exploring diverse cuisines. She is also passionate about traveling—having visited four continents so far—and plans to explore even more of the world!

Natalia Theodora is currently pursuing an OMSCS degree with a specialization in Machine Learning at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Outside of her studies, Natalia works as a Senior Manager in the Data and AI practice at Accenture, where she focuses on modernizing Data Intelligence Platforms.

Natalia’s research interests include data and AI platform architecture, engineering, and education technology. She is motivated by her own positive experiences with online learning and is passionate about contributing to the field to help others benefit from similar opportunities.

Yallen Bai is a graduate student studying Computer Science at Georgia Tech, specializing in Machine Learning. He has experience working in the healthtech and e-commerce industries. In his free time, Yallen enjoys playing the piano. Currently, Yallen is a member of the DILab’s Architecture for Learning (A4L) team.

Isaac Lo is a graduate student pursuing an MS in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. As part of the Design Intelligence Lab, he works on the Jill Watson Project, researching virtual AI-powered Teaching Assistants to enhance online learning. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is passionate about applying AI to improve everyday life. Outside of his studies and research, Isaac enjoys hiking and cooking.

Rajarshi Ghoshal is currently doing a Masters in Science in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. Rajarshi is working as a senior machine learning engineer at Microsoft. He currently lives in Bangalore, India. At DILab, Rajarshi works on SAMI project. His research interest lies in the intersection of AI and software infrastructure. In his free time he loves to play video games, read manga and books, and philosophy.
