Erik Goh

Erik Goh is an M.S. student in CS at Georgia Tech, specializing in ML. He first-authored two pending publications with Dr. David Joyner and Dr. Ana Rusch, where he applied programmatic web scraping, LLMs, text embeddings, and unsupervised learning to uncover insights in large-scale learning. Prior to DILab, Erik also worked in ASDL’s Energy Infrastructure and Data Engineering group, modelling energy data and census information for resource planning. His industry background includes leading technical and creative innovation teams prototyping, pitching for funds, and building products; his latest one was funded by Microsoft, for a product that leverages GOFAI, ML, and LLM for revenue identification. He is currently also a research assistant in DILab, working on VERA.

Research Interest: Self-Reasoning, Meta-Learning, Cognitive Architectures, AI Education, Knowledge Representation, Transfer Learning.

Jun Yu Tan

Jun Yu Tan is a MSCS student at Georgia Tech specializing in Machine Learning, with research interests in LLM applications in software engineering and human-AI collaboration. Based in San Francisco, he works as an AI engineer at Tusk, where he develops AI agents to enhance software development workflows.

Ming Zhong

Ming Zhong is a Graduate Research Assistant and a student in the OMSCS program. He holds a Master’s degree in Statistics from Columbia University and brings extensive expertise in data science and analytics. In addition to his work at DILab, Ming supports a convenience store chain as a Data Scientist, leveraging data-driven solutions to optimize operations and decision-making.

His research interests span natural language processing, agentic AI, and the application of artificial intelligence in ecological studies.

Youssef Medhat

Youssef Medhat is from Egypt. He is a Machine Learning Software Engineer who loves working on ideas that can make life easier and better for everyone. Youssef chose this field because it’s rooted in research and gives him the chance to create solutions that can truly impact society in a positive way. Youssef is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning, through Georgia Tech’s OMSCS program.

Outside of work and studies, he focuses on personal growth and enjoys exploring new things. Whether it’s exercising, playing MMORPGs, trying out new restaurants, or spending time with the people he cares about, Youssef believes in keeping a healthy balance in life. David Chen

David Chen is a part-time M.S. student in Computer Science in Georgia Tech, pursuing a specialization in Machine learning. He is part of the Jill Watson team working on conversational AI for education use cases. 

Professionally, David is a Senior Software Engineer at Hertz. He leads a team of engineers to develop new products that help drivers earn income on Uber and Lyft using Hertz vehicles. Motivated to deepen his understanding of LLM fundamentals, David has begun prototyping LLM solutions in his day-to-day work at Hertz, streamlining manual processes and improving data accuracy. Prior to Hertz, he worked as a full-stack engineer at Samsara, GE, and several startups.

Yebai Guo

Yebai Guo is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, specializing in computer systems. Before starting the program, Yebai was a credentialed actuary working in the life insurance industry. Yebai is now part of the DILab, working on the Architecture for Learning (A4L) team.

Junsoo Park

Terry Junsoo Park is a current graduate student at Georgia Tech, studying computer science, specializing in machine learning. He has industry experience as a data analyst for the Canadian federal government. His research interests lie in the intersection of artificial intelligence, cognition, and medicine. He is now working in the DILab as part of the Architecture for Learning (A4L) team.
