Paula is a Master’s student in the Computer Science program at Georgia Tech, specializing in Machine Learning. She has previously earned bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Tech. Her research interests center on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the application of computational methods to problems in education and life sciences.

Before joining DILab, Paula contributed to research in biotechnology laboratories, working on projects involving gene regulation, and has co-authored three publications in the field. At DILab, her current work focuses on developing AI-powered educational agents for the VERA learning environment, with an emphasis on creating more interactive learning experiences. Outside of research, Paula enjoys baking, hiking, and watching anime.
