Jisu Kim is a graduating master’s student in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. She initially joined DILab in January 2024 and began working as a Graduate Research Assistant in January 2025. Her work focuses on a computational method for self-explanation and self-correction for SAMI, an AI social agent designed to support social interaction in online learning. The method introspects on a self-model, a representation of the agent’s tasks, methods, and knowledge, and uses Chain-of-Thought reasoning with ChatGPT to explain its behavior and localize errors. She also authored a workshop paper accepted at ACM Learning@Scale 2024, proposing a learnersourcing system using SAMI to enhance student engagement and motivation [PDF].
